Light & Motion lights are no small investment. It would certainly be a drag to break one in a crash. The Light & Motion break-away disk is a solution to the issue of breaking lamps. The disk allows the lamp to break away from the mount if it is hit, the disk prevents the lamp or mount from breaking. These are small enough to carry in a bag.
